At starting defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings, Everson Griffen knows "He's bad", Griffen also knows what it took to get him to where he stands.

He didn't go first overall or even first round. In fact, the Vikings drafted him in the 4th round in '10, with the 100th overall pick. Griffen started out as a gunner on SPT covering punts and kick offs. Between his rookie year and '13, he was used mainly on 3rd downs. It wasn't until '14 that Griffen won the starting job(..and hasn't look back since) '14 was a break out year for Griffen. Starting all 16 games and ringing up a career high 12 sacks. Returning with an encore performance in '15 reaching 10.5 sacks and earning his first career Pro Bowl.

Griffen isn't just a one trick pony though, he can chase down a runner off the edge and has elevated his run stopping defense along with his pass rush skills to become a complete player. In '16, Griffen would earn his 2nd Pro Bowl in as many years, with only 8 sacks. Turn the page to '17 and we have a man on a mission. Griffen has 10 sacks in eight games, and currently leads the league in QB pressures (45). Griffen has also tied a Vikings team record held by great Jim Marshall for eight straight games with a sack.

His 58 career sacks rank him 8th all time in Vikings history. The best part though, is Ev doesn't make it all about him, he praises teammates and shares his success with the team, as a team. I guess you could say that's why he has that big "C" on the front of his jersey, and why his motto "Be Great" is echoed through the entire team. With all the stat talk around him, Ev is focused on one thing. Winning.
