This week, the Minnesota Vikings resigned the first of their exclusive rights free agents, in C.J. Ham. It was a one year, $645,000 deal. He has been the team’s regular fullback the last two seasons after spending his rookie year on the practice squad.

This was expected as it’s hard to find fullbacks as reliable as Ham in today’s NFL. Ham had 93 yards from scrimmage, usually coming in critical short yardage situations.

The Duluth native went to college at Augustana University and he had an impressive football career there, putting up over 1,000 yards from scrimmage in both his junior year and his senior year.

Undrafted out of college, Ham participated in Vikings rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. The Vikings liked what they saw and he ended up making the practice squad that season.

In 2017, Ham made the official transition from running back to fullback and even ended up making the 53 man roster. He scored his first touchdown in a matchup vs the Steelers.

Ham seems to be happy to be back with the Minnesota Vikings as I got a quote from him:
“Feels good, I’m truly blessed to be with this organization! My family and I love being in MN. I can’t wait to get back to work! 💪🏾“
VikingNations is glad to have you back, C.J.!
